This watch draws direct inspiration from the historic military timepieces issued to British soldiers during World War II, known collectively as the “Dirty Dozen.” Our goal with this design was to bring that iconic field watch aesthetic to the S5 platform—retaining its vintage charm while enhancing everyday wearability. The dial echoes the utilitarian aesthetic of the original specifications. With its powerful lume and rugged case, the S5 Dirty Dozen embodies the timeless appeal of military design, reinterpreted through Vaer’s lens of modern durability, affordability, and waterproof performance.
